We are working on behalf of a leading Utility who are currently looking for a LNG Derivatives Trader to join their team in Singapore.
 
Skills and Knowledge        

• Experience of setting up and managing a profitable derivatives desk
• Deep understanding of hedging and optimization strategies
• Demonstrated track record scaling up a derivatives trading book within risk mandates, including from proprietary position taking
• Understanding and awareness of statistical and quantitative analytical methods
• Deep understanding of global economic drivers

Responsibilities   

• Own and grow the derivatives trading book along the LNG value chain
• Develop and execute the derivatives trading strategy based on consultation with the physical trading and market analysis teams
• Work with market analysis / research teams to develop actionable insights from market patterns and back-test new trading strategies
• Ensure execution of trading strategies as part of the overall derivatives portfolio
• Monitor performance of derivatives portfolio and books against trading mandates
• Lead the analysis of historical investment performance, portfolio company performance, financial statements, financial models, and industry research
• Monitoring and optimizing existing portfolio investments
• Representing the team and the portfolio to current and prospective investors
• Collaborate with Risk Management team to define proper guidelines and escalation procedures for desk management
• Ensure desk positions are managed within risk framework by allocating risk effectively

Required experience         

• At least 5 – 8 years’ experience trading and managing a successful derivatives desk at a leading commodity trader / bank / hedge fund with a focus on commodity spreads
