Our client is an global privately owned firm that invests and operates a portfolio that consists of a diverse range of assets across industrial, logistics and infrastructure. They have in excess of USD $12bn in AUM and are currently seeking an Investment Analyst to join their Sydney team.
The role will be pivotal in providing critical support to the senior team in deal underwriting and transaction sourcing and execution.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Head of Investments the Investment Analyst is responsible for:
Assist the APAC team in assessing market opportunities and to inform the strategy and strategic direction for structured transactions, growing the platform in the region
Conducts research on real estate markets, sectors, trends and developments with a focus on logistics & transportation-related real estate assets
Assist with the evaluation of potential acquisitions and transactions nationally including the modelling and financial analysis
Work with external stakeholders (these will include, but is not limited to, key real estate agents, tenant representatives, valuers, financiers, liquidators / administrators, investment bankers, private equity, industry peers) to develop accurate and strategic investor presentations
Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support the assessment of investment opportunities as well as divestment's
Participate in financial due diligence from early stages of deal origination through to negotiation and deal execution
Prepare investor presentations and capital raising documents, prepare internal approval papers in respect of new investments
Conduct industry research and provide periodic existing investment reporting.
Participate in client teams for acquisitions, development, disposition and portfolio investment strategies;
Follow trends in the capital markets as they relate to institutional real estate
Assist in preparation and issuance of acquisition and divestment board papers and memorandums including deal presentation
Conduct and assist transaction management including appointment and management of consultants or sales agents, due diligence, deal risk identification and mitigation, analysis, negotiations and achieving financial closure for both acquisitions and divestments
Work closely with the Investment team to move all aspects of transactions forward from initial identification through final delivery
Use Salesforce as an active and committed team communication tool, maintaining an updated record/database for APAC
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Real Estate or related field
Minimum 1-3 years of experience in real estate analytics or transactions
Competent and experienced in financial modelling and analysis for
capital transactions
Demonstrated knowledge of underwriting analysis, valuations or research background
Strong understanding of valuation and corporate finance principles
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with high level of commercial acumen
Excellent communication and presentation skills with internal and external stakeholders
Experience in the analysis and management of high value property assets/portfolios;
Ability to work in a complex and dynamic team environments.
